Emotions in Eden, between woods and vineyards

The story of Romito

"Romito meets the needs of those who wish to set their special moment in a place immersed in greenery, finely restored and rich in history"

The Hermitage, or "romitorio," was founded in the 13th century by Franciscan friars. Today Romito di San Biagio is a fortunate blend of history, elegance and the romance of nature: halls restored in a rustic-chic style with echoes of French Provence, set within a cared-for park among vineyards and woodland.

I grew up and trained in different areas of the fashion and luxury industry. To me, luxury is the simple emotion tied to an object, a place, a scent: the positive energy of someone who loves us, gratitude for an unexpected gesture, time spent happy.

I look for and create the conditions to live in harmony and share joy with the people I meet. Romito di San Biagio is the ideal setting to bring happy moments to life: it has been, is, and will be the stage for unforgettable events.

Who is Hervè

Hervè & I

A team, first of all

Hervè is the backbone of all this: his hands, his eye, his patience are in every corner of Romito just as much as mine are. We were the first to marry here: many years ago, our wedding at Romito was so special, for us and for our guests, that on that very day an idea was born — to host weddings as incredibly wonderful as our own. So, ten years and three children later, we finally brought our project to life: after a major conservation restoration of the property, in 2019 we opened the doors to our new adventure.

Before being husband and wife, we are a team: bound together forever and unbreakably, exactly as in that photo.

Frequently asked questions

What we're asked most often

Where is Romito di San Biagio located?

We're in Casteggio, in the province of Pavia, in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese: about 45 minutes from Milan and just minutes from the Casteggio motorway exit.

Which cities is Romito di San Biagio easy to reach from?

Romito is designed for those looking for a wedding and event venue within easy reach of a wide area of Northern Italy: we're about 30 minutes from Pavia, 45 from Milan, 35 from Piacenza, and also convenient from Lodi, Voghera, Alessandria and the Lomellina area (Garlasco, Gropello Cairoli), as well as from Oltrepò Pavese towns such as Stradella, Broni and Godiasco Salice Terme. We're just 2 km from the Casteggio exit on the A21 Turin-Piacenza-Brescia motorway, a natural meeting point between Lombardy and Piedmont.

Can we hold a civil ceremony at Romito di San Biagio?

Yes, with full legal standing: Romito is a registered "casa comunale" by resolution of the Municipality of Casteggio, so the officiant can perform the civil ceremony directly here, with a professional available on request. Alternatively, you can also hold a purely symbolic ceremony, with no civil or religious ties.

How many guests can the venue host?

The spaces adapt to both intimate weddings — under 40 guests — and larger receptions, thanks to the combination of garden, verandas and indoor rooms. In case of bad weather, the first-floor hall with its adjoining terrace can host up to 135 adults; a dedicated children's table can also be set up in the Hall of Mirrors.

Can we celebrate both outdoors and indoors?

Yes. In fine weather you experience the garden and verandas; in case of bad weather, the day's moments are arranged in the Fireplace Hall and the Hall of Antique Mirrors, both equipped with heating and air conditioning.

Who takes care of the menu and other services?

Romito offers a range of hand-picked suppliers — caterers, wedding planners, photographers, floral designers — who already know the venue, and many of whom know each other. A free, personalized catering quote is available on request.

Is there parking for guests?

Yes, parking for 65 cars with valet service on guest arrival.

Until what time can we dance?

There are no time limits, either outdoors or indoors. After midnight, the party can continue in Extra Time, dancing outdoors too.
